Thank you to United Fund of Le Sueur for their generous donation and support of LSH’s American Government Field Trip. This donation will enable our students to have hands-on learning experiences and foster lifelong learning in this vital area of civics. Later this month, Mr. Hageman will lead his American Government students on a Voice of the People Tour at the State Capitol. They will enjoy a guided tour focused on the government and its functions. After the tour, LSH students will witness an actual legislative hearing and observe Legislators in action. @Unitedfundoflesueur

Seniors and Parents/Guardians of Seniors, On Monday, February 26th, we will be hosting a representative from the Financial Aid Office at South Central College at 5:00 in the MS/HS Media Center. They will present on financial aid updates as well as help with FAFSA completion. You do not need to be enrolling at South Central to attend. All students who are attending college next fall are welcome. If you are planning on completing your FAFSA that evening, please be sure to have your FSA ID created prior to coming on Monday at the following link. This can take up to seven days to be sent back to you so please apply for your FSA ID as soon as possible. State Wrestling Fan Bus Info! There will be a fan bus for LSH middle and high school students to the State Wrestling tournament Thursday, 2/29 to support our GIANTS Wrestling Team! Students must sign up and pay in the office by Monday, 2/26 at 4:00PM to be able to ride the fan bus. Cost for the bus is $10 per rider. The GIANTS will wrestle at 11am and at 1pm. Our bus will return to school after the 2nd match. Anticipate a return to LSH between 4:30 pm and 5:00pm. Students also need to fill out a pre-arranged absence form which can be picked up in the office. Students have to purchase their own tickets for entrance into the Xcel Energy Center. Tickets can be purchased here: https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/06005F7C1BE55DFF The Xcel Energy Center is a "cashless" arena. Only credit card and mobile pay are accepted. Cash is no longer accepted. NO BAGS are permitted inside the arena to help reduce staff touchpoints and expedite entry times for guests. If students are planning on attending the State Wrestling Tournament and not riding the bus, parents must call the attendance line stating their student is attending the tournament. 507-665-5800. AAU (Angels Amongst Us) is looking for volunteers for their pool tournament Feb 23, 24 & 25. There are a lot of time slots available. AAU donates THOUSANDS OF dollars towards scholarships for Le Sueur Henderson Students. Some AAU Scholarships require that you work one of their events. Mrs. DePoppe's Social Studies classes are learning about the immigration to America and Ellis Island. Students created and memorized identification cards to prepare for their "Entry Interview" to identify with the experiences of immigrants in the 1800's.

Giant Buddies are back at it this month creating vision boards and setting goals for 2024. They sure do love this time together!
